Our setting has received a high quality service. With your support and guidance we have ensured that our service is fully inclusive and meeting the needs of ALL children. Sarah Gaish
Working closely with you has given us the opportunity to improve our practice and as a result we are now confident that we provide an inclusive, rich environment for every child. Mountfield Playgroup
Our playgroup has received invaluable support and advice over the past years. Staff have supported children, families and our staff. They have offered help, been a source of information, are professional, friendly and easy to approach. They provide a much needed service and we hope it will be available for many years to come. Then I began to realise that I had to take another step in my evolution and growth Eileen Caddy
When I (Sarah Dobson) started working for Playgroup Network it was just before the introduction of the EYFS. That, together with other changes in the sector has meant that we have had to re-evaluate the service that we were providing. Whilst the service had been good before it soon became apparent that we would need to up our game if we wanted to remain in the market and be able to support your needs.
Danie Winter came on board the committee just over a year later has worked tirelessly (for free!) in working towards the changes that we had identified were needed. We decided to follow in the footsteps of the Cleveland branch of Playgroup Network who had set up a very successful social enterprise as a trading arm off their charity. This would mean there would be more freedom around commissioning contracts and services, which would ultimately ensure our long term sustainability, enabling us to continue to support you in ways that would make a difference to your group and your own sustainability.
Together with our brilliant staff team we came up with a name for the trading arm that we hoped would demonstrate what we were all about. We came up with kids cic (community interest company). Kids is actually short for what we deliver to our members.
Knowledge. We’ve got loads! Inform. We’ll keep you up to date and share information! Develop. We love to help you develop and grow! Support. We’ll hold your hand and listen to your needs!
When Danie and I came up with kids cic we didn’t know how, where, what it would cost, or indeed, if it would work. We still don’t know everything down the line but we do feel we have a good understanding on what you want and need (feel free to get in touch with your own ideas). What we did know was 100% who we wanted to serve and what we wanted them to get out of it. We aim to become a “one stop shop” that will cover every area you need within your group. The whole team has a vast amount of experience and knowledge, together with a passion and enthusiasm that is contagious we aim to support you with your own journey towards brilliance!
